Why not deligate the fit process or use automated third party design programs?

 

We are not restricted by the traditional approach of prescribed geometries for each style of cycling and we know BikeCad is extremely popular design software used by a large number of frame builders. However we believe our method gives us the greatest freedom to achieve an exact bespoke design and ultimately we think the framebuilder should have a good understanding of the design process. 

 

 

We know some excellent bike fitters and our customers from distant continents have no choice but to have a third party bike fit. Many experienced riders are very happy with their fit and we are happy to build to these fits. However our approach is meticulous, each fit and design has comprimises that need to made; we believe  by haveing a full understanding of the entire process we are able to optimise the bike design.

We believe we are extremely fortunate that our combination of knowledge, skills and experience compliment each other. This allows a fully unique and comprehensive approach to assesment each cyclist and the design of their bike. This is why both the performance and aesthetics of our bikes stands out.

 

Every cyclist is unique and every bike has a unique purpose.To design and build a bespoke bike for a cyclist we would suggest the following are a prerequisit:

 

• The experience necesary to asses riding style

• Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics

• Experience and training in bike fit.

• Engineering knowledge necesary to understand bike handling and performance in order to individually design frames

• The experience gained with time and training to fabricate a frame to a high standard

• Meticlous attention to detail.

 

How We Work

 

There are three main steps to building a bespoke bike:

 

• The assesment process

The time spent getting to know and understand each rider and to understand their needs and requirements is invaluable.Assessing riding style and accurate bike fit are essential.

 

• The design process

We design each bike from scratch, We are not restricted by the traditional approach of prescribed geometries for each style of cycling and we do not use third party software such as BikeCad. We believe our method gives us the greatest freedom to achieve an exact bespoke design. This is only possible if you have knowledge of the engineering principles underlying bike handling and frame design.

 

• The build process

We are meticulous about the tolerences we work to and your frame is checked for alignmant through out it's build. From tube selection to the final coat of laquer every step of your bike build is done inhouse and to exacting standards
